Test Preparation

Depending on the area to be imaged, you may be asked to wear a hospital gown at the time of the scan.
You may have to remove your jewelry and any metal objects which might interfere with the image.
Pregnant women should inform their doctor (and x-ray technician) as the radiations may affect the fetus. If needed, precautions can be taken to lower the radiation exposure to the fetus.
Inform your doctor and technician if you have any stents, implants or pacemakers in your body.

Understanding 3D Lower Abdomen

What is 3D Lower Abdomen?

3D Lower Abdomen / USG 3D Pelvis is a noninvasive diagnostic procedure. It produces images of inside of body using sound waves. Ultrasound gel is placed on lower abdomen and with the help of a small probe (transducer), the scanning is carried out. From the probe, sound waves of high frequency are transmitted to the body via gel. An image is created in the computer from those sound waves which are bounced back by the probe.
