Sugar Risk Package
Understanding Sugar Risk Package
What is Sugar Risk Package?
A Sugar Risk Package is used for screening diabetes, and to assess the risk of developing diabetes or treatment response in an individual. This package offers specific tests, HOMA (Homeostatic model assessment) to assess a person’s insulin resistance and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test to know the average blood sugar levels for the past few months. It is recommended in people with risk factors such as obesity, heart disease, or a family history of diabetes. This test can be done if a person experiences common diabetic symptoms like frequent urination, increased thirst or hunger, weakness, weight changes, poor healing ability, tingling or numbness in the hand and legs. Lifestyle changes like eating a well-balanced diet and regular exercise may help in maintaining optimal blood sugar levels.
