Bhumi Amla
Bhumi Amla (Phyllanthus niruri) belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and is also known as ‘Dukong anak’. The whole plant of Bhumi amla is used for its medicinal properties. The chemical constituents of this plant are flavonoids, terpenoids, lignans, polyphenols, tannins, coumarins and saponins. The plant has medicinal properties to treat various ailments like dysentery, influenza, vaginitis (vaginal infections), tumors, diabetes, diuretics, jaundice, kidney stone and dyspepsia (indigestion). It is also used as an antihepatotoxic(agent the reverse the damage of liver), antihepatitis-B, antihyperglycemic, antiviral and antibacterial agent[1-8].
