Khas is a perennial grass which is cultivated for the production of a commercially important essential oil used in perfumes. Khas has cooling property and is used for preparing Sherbet or flavored drink during summer. It also possesses various pharmacological activities like antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It helps to manage insomnia, anxiety, headache and stomach pain. It also helps to manage the pain and stiffness associated with rheumatoid arthritis[2-4].
