Product introduction

Labeta Injection is a medicine used in the urgent treatment of hypertensive emergency (severely increased blood pressure). It also helps to treat severe hypertension in pregnancy, when rapid control of blood pressure is essential.

Pregnancy

Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Labeta Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Labeta Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Labeta Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Labeta Injection is recommended.
However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for better dose adjustment.
Liver
CAUTION
Labeta Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Labeta Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Quick tips

  • It is given as an injection into veins or as drip under the supervision of a medical professional.
  • Check your blood pressure 1 week after starting Labeta Injection, and inform your doctor if it has not improved.
  • Labeta Injection may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
  • It may cause you to feel lightheaded or weak especially when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension). Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking Labeta Injection as it may make the side effects worse.

Reactive depression is in response to a situation like loss, sickness, trauma etc. Endogenous depression occurs without any noticeable environmental stressors. Psychological symptoms include lack of interest, negative thinking, irritability, frustration, feeling demotivated etc. Somatic symptoms like fatigue/ weakness/ lack of sleep/ lack of appetite and other physical symptoms are common. Anxiety is common. In severe cases one may feel helpless and hopeless enough to wish for death or attempt suicide. Diabetic patients while using Labeta Injection should regularly check the blood sugar levels. Labeta Injection may make it difficult to recognize the warning signs of low blood sugar such as shaking and a racing heartbeat. Consult your doctor if the blood sugar levels are reduced while taking Labeta Injection.

Does Labeta Injection affect heart rate?
