How to use Sepgard Gel
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
How Sepgard Gel works
Sepgard Gel is an incomplete ferrous salt. When applied to fresh abrasions, it stops oozing of blood. It does so by activating an enzyme (thrombin) which promotes clot formation. Additionally, it combines with blood proteins to form a gel-like substance that covers and protects the wound surface. This further stops bleeding.
