1mg Accuhaler belongs to a group of medicines known as immunosuppressants. Organ rejection happens when your immune system treats the new organ as an invader and attacks it. This medicine weakens your immune response (which usually fights infection) and reduces the chance of your body attacking the transplanted organ. It is used in combination with other medicines to make it much more likely that your transplant operation will be successful. You should continue taking the medicine and should not stop it until your doctor says so.

How to use 1mg Accuhaler
Check the label for directions before use. Shake the inhaler and place it in a spacer. Put the spacer mouthpiece between your lips and make an airtight seal. Press the top of the inhaler down once to release the medication into the spacer and breathe in slowly through the mouth immediately. With the spacer still between your lips breathe in and out normally 10 times.
How 1mg Accuhaler works
1mg Accuhaler is an immunosuppressant. In organ transplant patients, it works by suppressing your body’s immune response helping your body to accept the new organ as if it were your own. In allergic eye disease, it works by decreasing the production of chemicals (eg. histamine) that cause allergic eye symptoms such as inflammation (redness and swelling).

You should avoid taking any live vaccines (vaccines that use pathogens that are still alive, but are attenuated, that is, weakened) while taking 1mg Accuhaler. These may include vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, BCG (TB vaccine), yellow fever, chicken pox and typhoid. You should also avoid taking polio drops (by mouth) or flu vaccine (through nose).
What should I tell my doctor before taking 1mg Accuhaler?
Before taking 1mg Accuhaler, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, have allergies, long-term infection, high blood sugar, or high blood pressure. You should also inform your doctor if you have high blood potassium levels or a weakened immune system. Make your doctor aware in case you have a history of any medication, have recently received or are scheduled to receive a live vaccine.
Is 1mg Accuhaler safe?
As compared to other immune-suppressing medicines, 1mg Accuhaler has been found to be a safe and effective short-term treatment for atopic dermatitis. When applied on the affected part of the skin, its absorption to the blood and body is minimal. Hence, the side effects are less as compared to when taken through oral route.
