Introduction of Agither-L Oral Suspension
Agither-L Dry Syrup is used for the treatment of malaria in both children and adults. It contains two medicines both of which belong to a group of medicines called antimalarials. However, it is not used to prevent malaria or to treat severe/complicated malaria (when the brain, lungs, or kidneys are affected).
Agither-L Dry Syrup is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Agither-L Dry Syrup1 and Agither-L Dry Syrup2 which treat malaria.

In Treatment of Malaria
Malaria is an infection that is transmitted by mosquito bites. Agither-L Dry Syrup effectively treats malaria by killing the malarial parasites. However, it should not be used to prevent malaria and should be taken only when prescribed by a doctor. This medicine makes you feel better within a few days of treatment. But, if you have fever, chills, muscle pain, or headache soon after you finish your treatment, this could be a sign that you still are infected with malaria. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any such symptoms.
Refrain from taking any other medicines or antacids along with this medicine (unless advised by the doctor) as they may affect the absorption of this medicine. Do not use this medicine for treating any other condition without consulting your doctor.

Agither-L Oral Suspension
- You have been prescribed Agither-L Dry Syrup for the treatment of acute uncomplicated malaria that is resistant to other antimalarial medications such as chloroquine.
- Tips to reduce the chance of being bitten by mosquitoes:
- Wear light-coloured and covered clothing when you are outside after sunset.
- Use insect repellent creams or sprays on parts of your body not covered by clothing.
- Spray to kill any mosquitoes that may have entered rooms in spite of screening.
- Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
- It should be taken with food or drinks rich in fat such as milk.
- It may cause fatigue and dizziness. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration.
- If you vomit within 1 hour of taking the tablets, take another dose.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver or heart disease.
