Busag 0.5mg Injection is used in the treatment of hormone-dependent prostate cancer. It works by decreasing the blood levels of testosterone in males.

Busag 0.5mg Injection is used to treat prostate cancer in men and to aid women in getting pregnant and treat endometriosis in women (condition where tissue that normally lines the inside of your womb (uterus) is found elsewhere)

Psychological symptoms include lack of interest, negative thinking, irritability, frustration, feeling demotivated etc. Somatic symptoms like fatigue/ weakness/ lack of sleep/ lack of appetite and other physical symptoms are common. Anxiety is common. In severe cases one may feel helpless and hopeless enough to wish for death or attempt suicide. Treatment includes physical and psychiatric work up following which medicines can be prescribed. In milder cases, psychotherapy or counselling is recommended.

Q. What is a tumor flare reaction (TFR)? Can I experience a TFR while on treatment with Busag 0.5mg Injection?

A tumor flare reaction is a sudden and an increase in the size of cancer as well as its symptoms. Yes, you might notice a TFR while taking Busag 0.5mg Injection and experience an increase in symptoms of prostate cancer such as blood in urine, painful or difficult urination, sudden back or trunk pain, or weakness in your legs, especially during the first month of the treatment. It is temporary and symptoms reduce gradually as treatment progresses. Talk to your doctor immediately if it does not.

Q. Does Busag 0.5mg Injection cause weight gain?

Yes, you may put on weight when you are taking this medicine. Taking a balanced diet and being active can help you keep to a healthy weight.

Q. Being a diabetic, what should I remember while taking Busag 0.5mg Injection?

Busag 0.5mg Injection may cause blood sugar levels to rise. Therefore, your doctor may adjust your dose of insulin or antidiabetic medicines accordingly. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly and consult your doctor if you notice a sudden rise or notice symptoms like an increase in thirst and frequent urination.

Yes, an increase in sweating is a common side effect of this medicine and it usually stops a few months after treatment finishes. In order to get some relief, wear clothes made from natural fabrics, such as cotton; keep the room temperature cool or use an air conditioner; have cold drinks rather than hot ones, reduce the amount of alcohol you drink and stop smoking.
