Exact 3 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of tuberculosis. It prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause the infection.

Exact 3 Tablet is a combination of rifampicin, isoniazid, and ethambutol.

Exact 3 Tablet helps treat tuberculosis by stopping the growth of bacteria causing infection. Your symptoms might improve after using Exact 3 Tablet. However, make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

Side effects of Exact 3 Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Avoid Exact 3 Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

Exact 3 Tablet occasionally causes sight problems and tingling or numbness in hand or feet. After taking this medicine you should not drive until you know how it affects you.
Kidney

What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Exact 3 Tablet?

Can the use of Exact 3 Tablet cause discoloration of the urine?

Yes, Exact 3 Tablet contains rifampicin which can cause temporary discoloration of your teeth, sweat, urine, saliva, and tears (red, orange, or brown color). This side effect is usually not harmful. However, discoloration of urine can be a sign of liver damage. Call your doctor if you have discoloration of urine with stomach pain, loss of appetite, and jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes).

Can I discontinue Exact 3 Tablet if I feel well?

No, do not discontinue Exact 3 Tablet. Take the proper course of the drug that has been prescribed to you even if you begin to feel better. If you stop taking Exact 3 Tablet, your infection may become worse and difficult to treat. It may even result in drug-resistant TB i.e. drugs you were taking may no longer work for Tuberculosis.

Can Exact 3 Tablet cause visual impairment?

Exact 3 Tablet contains Ethambutol, which may cause visual impairment. Inform the doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your eyesight.
