IG-Clor-D Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of two medicines that help to treat eye infections caused by bacteria. Chloramphenicol, an active ingredient of this medicine, kills and stops the growth of the bacteria that is causing the infection. Dexamethasone, on the other hand, helps relieve symptoms such as pain, redness, itching, or soreness caused due to eye infections.

IG-Clor-D Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of two medicines: Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by the bacteria to carry out vital functions. Quick tips
- Your doctor has prescribed IG-Clor-D Eye/Ear Drops to cure your eye infection and improve your symptoms.
- Use it twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
- Wash your hands first before applying IG-Clor-D Eye/Ear Drops. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. If it does, squeeze out two or three drops straightaway onto some tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
- Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
- Eye infections can cause your eyes to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Wearing sunglasses may help to prevent this.
- Along with using IG-Clor-D Eye/Ear Drops, give a warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
- Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other, and to other members of your family. Washing your hands regularly (particularly after touching your eyes) and not sharing towels or pillows will help to prevent the infection from spreading.
