How to use Line-M Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Line-M Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Line-M Syrup works

Line-M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

Line-M Syrup is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE

Line-M Syrup may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Line-M Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Line-M Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, use of Line-M Syrup is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Line-M Syrup is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Line-M Syrup is recommended.
However, consult your child’s doctor in case of severe liver disease.

What if you forget to take Line-M Syrup?

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to catch up and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Never combine Line-M Syrup with other cold and flu medicines as that may have side effects.
Line-M Syrup helps prevent asthma attacks. Never use it to stop an attack that has already started, as it will not help.
If you are giving Line-M Syrup to your child for asthma or allergy, you need not give another dose to prevent exercise-induced breathing problems. In case of any confusion, consult your child’s doctor as soon as possible.

Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help.
Stop taking Line-M Syrup at least three days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.
