Product introduction

Mesacol Enema is an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat a type of bowel disease known as ulcerative colitis. It is used when the lining tissue of the inner rectum becomes inflamed (proctitis). It helps to reduce symptoms such as diarrhea, bleeding and stomach pain by reducing inflammation in the bowel.

Mesacol Enema is used for the treatment of diseases caused by redness and swelling of lining of parts of intestines

Mesacol Enema can relieve these symptoms and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. It is taken by the back passage (rectal route) and should not be taken orally. You need to use this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids to make sure you stay hydrated.

How Mesacol Enema works

Mesacol Enema is an aminosalicylate. It works directly on the site of inflammation (swelling) in the lower parts of large intestine (colon and rectum) to provide rapid relief from attacks of ulcerative colitis. It suppresses the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause intestinal inflammation, thereby reducing ulceration, bleeding and painful symptoms.

Hi, I was diagnosed for Ulcerative Colitis in 2009. I was administered with Mesacol , I was back to normal. In past 1 month , after having food lunch or dinner I feel uneasy such as indigestion, having to force for motions next day. Sometimes Iam unable to pass motions. I feel tired also. Pls suggest.
