Hello, I work in a very sweaty environment, I recently had a ringworm outbreak, I used EBERNET and it worked perfectly fine for me, On the recommendation of a few friends who suggested to use anti-fungal soap for a few days to ensure that the spores are completely eliminated from my body. Are there any effective anti-fungal soaps or shampoos that I can use to treat ringworm infection? Is there a method to determine if my scalp is affected by ringworm's? Yes, you can use Micoap 2% Ointment only as a prescription medicine. This means that you can use this medicine only if your doctor prescribes it to you. You should seek the advice of your doctor regarding the type of skin infection you have and the duration of treatment which is required.

Can I use Micoap 2% Ointment during the day?

Micoap 2% Ointment needs to be applied twice daily (morning and night). Whereas, for vaginal infections Micoap 2% Ointment should be used once before bedtime.

No, Clotrimazole and Micoap 2% Ointment are not the same, but uses of both are almost similar. Both Clotrimazole and Micoap 2% Ointment belong to the imidazole class of antifungals.

How long does Micoap 2% Ointment take to work?

If you are using Micoap 2% Ointment to treat jock itch, your symptoms should improve over 2 weeks of treatment. Whereas, in the case of an athlete's foot or ringworm, your symptoms should improve over 4 weeks of treatment. How to apply the Micoap 2% Ointment?

Wash the infected area and dry it well. Apply Micoap 2% Ointment onto the infected area and the surrounding skin. Massage it gently onto the affected area. Wash your hands carefully after applying Micoap 2% Ointment to avoid spreading the infection to other parts of the body or to other people. Similarly, clothing which comes into contact with the infected areas, such as socks, should be washed and changed frequently. In fact, you should keep a towel for your own use and not share it so that you do not infect anyone else.

Is Micoap 2% Ointment safe to use in children?

Micoap 2% Ointment cream is generally safe for children if used in the prescribed doses for the prescribed duration of time as directed by the doctor. However, minor side effects may occur which are not bothersome. In case there is a burning sensation and severe itching and redness at the application site, stop the medicine and contact your doctor.

Can I stop the treatment if my symptoms clear up?

No, you should continue the treatment even if symptoms clear up. Continue treatment for 7 days (skin infections) or 10 days (nail infections) after all the symptoms have cleared to prevent them from coming back. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
