Introduction of Seprix-T Injection

Seprix-T 1.125 Injection is a combination medicine. It is prescribed to treat various types of bacterial infections. It fights against the microorganisms to prevent their growth and further spread of the infection.

Seprix-T 1.125 Injection is a combination of two medicines: Seprix-T 1.125 Injection1 and Seprix-T 1.125 Injection2.

In Bacterial infections

Seprix-T 1.125 Injection helps treat infections that are caused by bacteria. It contains two medicines, Ceftriaxone, and Tazobactum. Ceftriaxone stops the growth of infection-causing bacteria. Tazobactum enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against the bacteria as well as reduces resistance of the bacteria to the antibiotic. This medicine usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all the infectious bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Side effects of Seprix-T Injection

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Pregnancy

Seprix-T 1.125 Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
CAUTION
Seprix-T 1.125 Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving
UNSAFE
Seprix-T 1.125 Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
There is limited information available on the use of Seprix-T 1.125 Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Seprix-T 1.125 Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Seprix-T 1.125 Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Dose adjustment of Seprix-T 1.125 Injection is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

  • You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections even if they have developed resistance. 
  • Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Seprix-T 1.125 Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps.
  • Stop taking Seprix-T 1.125 Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
