Introduction of Silkof Syrup

Silkof Syrup is a medicine used to treat dry cough. It works by directly suppressing the cough reflex in the brain. It also produces a cool sensation and relieves minor throat irritation as well as provides relief from allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing.

Silkof Syrup is a combination of H1 antihistaminic (1st generation), H1 antihistaminic (1st generation), sympathomimetic- alpha 1(nasal), and menthol.

A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies, or throat irritants. Silkof Syrup suppresses dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Along with taking Silkof Syrup, gargling with warm salt water, and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough. Silkof Syrup will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose and help you carry out your daily activities more easily. Take it as prescribed by the doctor.

Kidney

Silkof Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Silkof Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Silkof Syrup may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver
