How Zincold Junior Tablet works

Zincold Junior Tablet contains four active ingredients. These include paracetamol, chlorpheniramine maleate, phenylephrine, and zinc gluconate. Together these ingredients help relieve the symptoms of a cold. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Chlorpheniramine maleate is an anti-allergic medicine that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels, providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Zinc gluconate releases zinc ions in the body which prevents the multiplication of infection-causing microorganisms by modulating the body’s immune system.

What if I forget to give Zincold Junior Tablet to my child?

Do not panic. Unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and do not give a double dose to catch up with the missed dose.

My child is having sleepless nights due to his underlying illness. Can I give Zincold Junior Tablet to make my child sleep?

No, you should not give Zincold Junior Tablet for such conditions. The use of Zincold Junior Tablet may cause mild drowsiness as a side effect, but do not use this to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying disease complication or sleep disorder like insomnia. It is always best to consult your child’s doctor before giving this medicine to your child.

Which is the best place to store the Zincold Junior Tablet at home?

Zincold Junior Tablet should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Also, keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid any accidental intake.

My child has a cough and fever. Can I give him two different cough and fever medicines together?

Do not give your child more than one cough or cold medicine at a time unless advised by the doctor. This is because both the medicines could have the same ingredients and taking them together would cause an overdose and could result in serious implications on your child. Always consult your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.

Can I give my cough medicine to my child?

Never give your child the medicines that have been recommended for use by adults.
