A CT (Computed Tomography) scan of the Orbits of the eyes is an imaging diagnosis method that takes extremely thin slice images of the eyes and orbital socket from three different angles. This allows the doctor to diagnose a wide array of conditions such as injuries, diseases and congenital defects. In CT scans of orbits, X-rays are used to get images of the eye, the sockets (orbit) and the surrounding areas.

In this test, the patient is made to wear loose clothes and get rid of all metallic items. The patient is then made to lie on a movable table. The doctor then moves the table inside the CT scan machine. The X-rays from the machine map the image of the eye, sockets and the surrounding areas, giving the required image of the orbits of the eyes.
